The Cytopathology laboratory offers a full line of gynecologic and non-gynecologic services. Both Surepath and ThinPrep liquid based Pap tests are available for cervical cancer screening. Fine needle aspiration (FNA) interpretation is routine, and FNA’s can be performed by our cytopathologists in our dedicated FNA suite if requested.

The cytopathology service is supported by a state-or-the-art histology, cytology, and special procedure laboratory, which provides current immunohistochemistry and molecular techniques to aid in diagnosis. The service is staffed by 4 cytopathologists along with a team of cytotechnologists who each average over 20 years of experience. A cytopathology fellowship is available in addition to pathology resident training.
